Ok, I am one of that kind of person who loves water. I think it has something magical in every state that you will find it (snow, foggy, rain, lake, etc.)
Maybe that is the reason Lake District is so famous because you can find a lovely place to have a picnic on the shore of any of the lakes and tarns. Or maybe because you can enjoy the views on any summit around us. After few years of being here, I find all the location very strategic and it is not just because all the local organizations and companies are trying to sell The Lake District as a special brand place to visit. It is all natural, here you can find high mountains, wild walks, lakeshores or even the highest mountain in England (Scafell Pike) near to town centers like Ambleside, Grasmere, Windermere, Keswick. This permits you to visit and take pictures of all the landscapes and charming countryside views while you have the ‘comfort’ right next to the door where you will find a thousand options of accommodation.
Personally, I come from a city. Before I came here I would consider myself as a ‘City Person’ and still resist to go for walks that take more than 3 hours. But all this strategic location makes The Lake District an easy way to have it all in one. Even if you do not think you would appreciate at first, I must say it is difficult not to like The Lakes. While you are staying in The Lake District you will feel how you are becoming a bit more of a ‘Country Person’
Have a look all the variety of landscapes that this place could offer us, Lake District represents a very well planned visit place for tourism. Thanks to all local people, tourists and local council we conserved as natural as we can. I will explain in this page how myself, a person who did not know too much about this paradise before I arrive here, feel so pleased and lucky for living in such an amazing place in the world.
The main purpose of this page is not selling you this place as the best in the world. Personally, I could consider myself as a traveller and I could honestly say that every place has their own beauty. I feel fascinated by Lake District because I live here and my experience was and is stunning!
So I would like to share it with you 🙂
As you will see in every picture, does not matter the weather! As someone told me once:
This is the paradise in the Earth.
